Annual Plan of Work for January 2007 - December 2007

This work plan includes the Clallam Conservation District (District) projected budget for 2007 and a detailed schedule of planned activities. These activities include ongoing administrative and educational activities as well as special projects for which grant funds have been awarded. Included in the work schedules are the responsible agents for each activity and task.

The vast majority of the projected budget and planned activities involve implementation of conservation practices. These practices include Best Management Practices (BMPs) for water quality protection, irrigation water conservation practices, and practices for salmon and other habitat recovery.

Education and outreach activities include our quarterly newsletter, our Native Plant Sale, Natural Landscaping clinics, educational booths at the County Fair and similar events, BMP workshops, and several programs for school children.

Five-Year Plan

After presenting our five-year plan at a public meeting on August 23, 2005 and accepting comments on our draft plan through August 2005, the final version of our five-year plan has been approved by our Board of Supervisors. This eight-page plan identifies general goals and priorities for renewable resource conservation for the next five years. Estimated staffing needs and annual budget requirements to implement the plan are also included. To view the plan please click on the five-year plan link above.

A nine-page document with background information describing land use throughout Clallam County, and general resource concerns and opportunities, accompanies the Five-Year Plan. You can also view the presentation given at our public meeting, showing the projects and programs we currently have, as well as those we hope to have in the future.

We welcome any thoughts and comments you may have on our plan and the programs and activities of the Conservation District.
